High school students can explore Ameritech College of Healthcare, other opportunities at CollegeCon 2017

Utah high school students considering careers in the healthcare industry will have the opportunity to explore the educational opportunities at Ameritech College of Healthcare when they attend CollegeCon 2017 this weekend.

CollegeCon 2017 is a free, one-day conference designed for parents and students to explore collegiate and future career opportunities available after high school graduation. Apart from dozens of vendor booths featuring local colleges and universities, there will be a host of workshops and presentations. Activities during the event include keynotes from Cotopaxi CEO Davis Smith, leadership expert Dr. Susan R. Madsen and rap artist James the Mormon. Breakout workshops will discuss career possibilities in teaching, how to be scholarship smart, earning college credit while in high school, how to find your big dream, easy steps to prepare for and succeed in college, how to pay for college and more.

Those considering careers in the healthcare industry, everything from nursing to occupational therapy to dental lab technician, will have the chance to discuss all their options with experts from Ameritech College of Healthcare. Located in Draper, Ameritech continually receives recognition for their nursing programs where graduates passed board exams on their first attempt last year at a rate of 95.3 percent, compared to 85.5 percent statewide and 84.5 percent nationally. Ameritech also recently launched its Occupational Therapy Assistant Associate Degree program.

CollegeCon 2017 will be held 8:30-2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 18, at Davis High School, 325 S. Main St., Kaysville. For more information, visit www.utahcollegecon.com or call (435) 340-0825.
